Just pointing out in case anyone is interested, I submitted an RSS feed mod.

I wanted an rss feeder that supported media sharing, in particular with ActivityPub feeds (e.g., Mastodon account and hashtag feeds) and also allowed YouTube channel subscriptions.

There are existing RSS mods out there (that admittedly have better admin options & features...) but they seem to exclude a lot of the media & not handle some of the feeds cleanly.   (The flip side is I routinely find new & bizarre & unique html embedded in feeds out there that require some tlc...  I fix 'em as I find 'em...)

To see an example of it in action, here are some feeds on the public-facing part of my friends & family sharing site:

I don't use these on here but it looks interesting for sure. I'm sure a lot of people will find it useful. :rgton

Also note that on my site, when viewing individual topics on mobile, you can swipe left & right to get to the next or previous topic/article.

This is my Swipe LR mod: https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=4400

Very handy when going thru a set of topics in a board.

I kept swiping left on SMF and it didn't do anything...  :dontknow

The link you provided as an example in this post goes to the forum index. :dontknow

Yeah the link is to the RSS Feeds category on the board index, with Music, Science & News boards, each of which include a boatload of feeds!

Here are direct links, just in case:

Very nice! I'm a former bassist, songwriter, dancer, and rapper. I'm 62 and can still dance a lot better than people a lot younger than me. LOL I stretch every morning when I wake up and throughout the day. ;D

Ever since I was very young music has always influenced my life and made it better! I no longer do those things (except for dancing) but music from around the world still influences me. ;DI learned about science at an early age. I don't follow it as I've used to but a lot of certain things I read about on the web now still relate to me...especially science with cooking foods.  ;D I've been cooking and baking since I was 5 years old...my grandmother started me on that. LOL

I still cook and bake all kinds of foods from around the world. Fresh pastas, fresh sausages with my meat grinder, and a lot more. Most people on the net know me from support websites, building PC's etc, but music and cooking will always be my favorite things. ;D

I've always been a music junkie.  All my life.

Especially guitar, and electronica, with an emphasis on guitar synths.  That's how I got into this.

A while back, my favorite website experienced massive CPU issues, and had no tech support: https://www.vguitarforums.com.  They sent out a plea for help & I volunteered to take a peek.  And ended up becoming the admin...

I'm an old guy, my programming experience was with mainframes, MVS370 JCL, etc.  But I have managed many teams since.  I knew modern website problems (way too many stories there...), but had not coded solutions.

(If my programmers knew I was programming, they'd be horrified...)

There were many, many issues.  DB issues with inconsistent collations, a broken 1.1 => 2.0 upgrade, many broken mod installs/uninstalls, PHP & MySQL were ancient...  Slowly I resolved all of them.

Then, I became interested in helping SMF get 2.1 out the door - I was concerned vguitarforums didn't have a future platform.  So I taught myself php...

And did so.

I've been trying to spend much more time with my music.  I do not consider myself a very good guitarist, but rather, an inventive one, & a concepts & an idea guy.

Now that I'm no longer SMF dev lead, I've been spending a lot more time with music...

And spending time with music sites on the fediverse, in particular electronica & ambient...

I'm too busy with the themes to to try to relearn how to play again. But it's worth it. :)

Thanks!  That's one of my themes, Starflight.

I have 4 themes, all animated:

Kinda surprised there aren't more animated themes out there.  Good fun.

Now, that you've mentioned it I do remember those but it's been awhile since I saw them. LOL
